# Chelsea make contact with Real Madrid for Danilo

Chelsea are eager to bring a couple more wing-backs into the squad this summer to give them sufficient depth heading into next season.

With a deal for Alex Sandro from Juventus stalling, Chelsea have made contact with Real Madrid for Danilo, according to Marca as cited by [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/app/transfer-centre).

The Brazilian defender has been in and out of the Real starting eleven following a £26.8m move from Porto two years ago and currently finds himself as Dani Carvajal’s backup at the Bernabeu.

Able to play either fullback position, the 25-year-old made just 25 appearances last season and is also a target for Juventus after they allowed Dani Alves to leave the club, with the former Barcelona man expected to join Manchester City.

Chelsea don’t have a natural right-back in the first-team squad, but Victor Moses has impressed in the right wing-back role over the last 12 months, but the addition of Danilo would give the Blues adequate depth and competition.
