# Koulibaly likely to leave Napoli this summer

Long-term Chelsea target Kalidou Koulibaly looks set to leave Serie A side Napoli this summer, according to Italian journalist [Giovanni Capuano‏](https://twitter.com/capuanogio/status/882839132342546432?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mirror.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Ftransfer-news%2Ftransfer-news-live-arsenal-manchester-10739376).

Koulibaly, 26, has been heavily linked with Antonio Conte’s side over the past 12 months and finally looks set to leave the Italian side during the current window, as the player’s agent is ‘open to a farewell’ with both Chelsea and Liverpool being linked with a move for the defender.

The central defender has been widely tipped for a move to the Premier League in the past but it is unknown where the Senegalese international will be playing his football next season.

Chelsea look set to have won the race for AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger, with the deal looking likely to be announced in the coming days and it is unclear whether or not Conte would be interested in also bringing Koulibaly to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have Andreas Christensen back with the club after he returned from his two-year loan spell with Borussia Monchengladbach, but strengthening the defence was one key area for Conte this summer.
