Aubameyang was in prolific form last season, scoring 31 times in the German Bundesliga to earn himself the Golden Boot ahead of Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski.

The 28-year-old striker has been linked with a move back to Italian giants AC Milan, where he made his name as a youth player. However, he does still have 3 years remaining on his current contract with Dortmund.

Chelsea manager Conte has told his current striker Diego Costa that he is not in his plans for next season, meaning the Spaniard is close to an exit from the Blues.

Conte was hoping to sign Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku but the striker opted to join rivals Manchester United. Therefore, Conte is targeting Aubameyang to make him his main striker at Stamford Bridge.

Aubameyang has proved that he is a big game player by netting seven times in the UEFA Champions League last season, a competition which Chelsea are hoping to challenge for next season.

His pace and finishing ability is one of the best in Europe and should Chelsea secure his services, then they will have acquired one of the most feared strikers for European defenders.
