# Chelsea battle with Man United for Dutch wonder-kid Bogarde

Premier League clubs Chelsea and Manchester United are keeping close tabs on 15-year-old Dutch wonder-kid Melayro Bogarde, who is a free agent until he turns 16 next summer, according to a report on the [Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jul/29/winston-bogarde-nephew-chelsea-manchester-united-city-liverpool).

The two clubs have watched the Feyenoord trainee numerous times and are waiting for him to participate in an under-17 tournament this season.

The 15-year-old is the nephew of former Chelsea defender Winston Bogarde and the Blues hope that their uncle can convince the youngster of signing for them.

The young defender has plenty of clubs chasing him because of his passing ability from defence. Bogarde is composed on the ball and has the talent to accurately fire passes into the forward from defence.

This has led to many people comparing him to Manchester City and England centre-back John Stones, who also has the same talent of passing the call rather than launching long balls up the field.

Man United have sent their scout on several occasions to watch Bogarde in action and he has sent positive reports back to Old Trafford.

There is also reported interest from Liverpool and Manchester City, who can make a move for Bogarde even though they have a ban on signing youth players from EFL or Premier League clubs.
