Bids have been turned down for the likes of Alex Sandro from Juventus and Sergi Roberto of Barcelona but the Blues remain hopeful of striking a £35m deal for Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Only contracted at Arsenal until the end of the season, the England international isn’t close to signing an extension with the Gunners who are determined to keep hold of him.
