# Chelsea boosted in pursuit of Fernando Llorente

Chelsea believe they are edging closer to securing the services of Fernando Llorente from Swansea, the [London Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-hopeful-over-15m-fernando-llorente-deal-as-swansea-lower-demands-a3622046.html) report.

Antonio Conte failed with a loan move for the Spaniard back in January but is keen to bring him in on a permanent basis this summer.

Swansea were demanding a fee of £30m for Llorente but Chelsea believe that they may accept just half of that – £15m – as they close in on a deal to sign Wilfried Bony from Manchester City.

The 32-year-old was the driving force behind Swansea’ survival bid last season and the good relations between the two clubs could work in Chelsea’s favour.

Conte sees Llorente as an ideal backup for Alvaro Morata having worked with the pair at Juventus but the Spaniard’s arrival could mean that Michy Batshuayi is on his way out of the club.

Batshuayi has been linked with the likes of Monaco, Newcastle and West Ham, but Chelsea have held off letting him leave until a replacement was signed.
