# Chelsea growing confident of sealing Drinkwater deal

Chelsea are reportedly growing increasingly confident that a deal for Danny Drinkwater will be struck tonight.

According to the [Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/08/31/football-transfer-news-rumours-live-transfer-deadline-day/), the Blues are nearing an agreement with Leicester over a big fee for the midfielder, with negotiations appearing to finally be close to a positive conclusion.

Leicester had set an initial asking price of £40m for the England international. This, understandably, was a fee that Chelsea were not willing to cough up for Drinkwater.

However, it appears as though despite Leicester having knocked back two bids for the former Manchester United man, a fee of around £30m could be agreed on.

The Blues have been overseeing a busy transfer deadline day. They have been hijacked at the 11th hour in their pursuit of Fernando Llorente, with Tottenham set to secure the Spaniard’s signature.

However, it looks as though Chelsea are close to tying up a deal worth around £23m for Torino right-back Davide Zappacosta.
