# Chelsea not pursuing Mahrez deal

Chelsea don’t appear to be pursuing a deal for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez.

It was revealed that the Algerian international left his national side in the early hours of the morning as he looked to tie up a transfer away from the King Power Stadium on deadline day.

However, it doesn’t look as though he will be able to do this, with potential suitors becoming increasingly scarce.

Chelsea have been linked with Mahrez for some time now, however according to the Telegraph’s Matt Law today, no bid has come in from the Blues’ end.

Mahrez handed in a transfer request at the end of the season, with him keen to return to Champions League football. However, it looks as though he’ll need to continue identifying other destinations before 11PM if he is to achieve his wish.
