# Diego Costa set for loan move to Al Hilal?

It’s becoming a matter of when not if Diego Costa will leave Chelsea this season but we seem to be edging closer to a resolution.

With the summer transfer window now in the rear view mirror, Atletico Madrid haven’t stopped their pursuit of Costa after a transfer ban really put an end to their efforts in the summer.

Reports have surfaced this week that Atletico have agreed a deal worth £54m with Chelsea for the transfer of Costa who spent four years with the La Liga club before joining the Blues in 2014.

The 28-year-old attacker is keen on returning to Atletico but he won’t be able to play for his new side until January, but Al Hilal have stepped up as a [potential loan destination](https://www.football-espana.net/67307/al-hilal-loan-part-costa-deal) in the mean time.

Costa is not part of the first-team picture at Chelsea after Antonio Conte made him available for transfer and Al Hilal would be willing to take him on loan until January to give him some much-needed game time.

Both Chelsea and Atletico are confident a deal can be agreed before the pair meet in the Champions League later this month.
