# Conte happy with Bakayoko’s progress

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is happy with how new signing Tiemoue Bakayoko is adjusting to life in England.

The Frenchman was signed after a drawn-out transfer saga in the summer, with Monaco parting ways with the midfielder following a huge bid from the Blues, reported to be worth in the region of £40 million.

Conte has eased Bakayoko into his Chelsea side, taking care with the midfielder given his ongoing recovery from a long-term knee injury.

However, as quoted by the [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tiemoue-bakayokos-swift-adaptation-to-premier-league-delights-chelsea-boss-antonio-conte-a3638681.html), the Blues boss has spoken of how happy he is with the new boy’s instant progression, and is delighted that he has adapted to the Premier League so quickly.

> Baka now has started to play. I think he is playing very well. Don’t forget last season he finished the season with surgery in his knee. Now he is in a good physical condition.

> He is starting to adapt himself in our style of football. I am pleased because I think these are good signs for us.

Bakayoko came off the bench at half-time in Chelsea’s goalless draw against Arsenal on Saturday, and he certainly changed the dynamic of the game in the middle of the park.

The powerful midfielder will now hope to nail down a regular place in Chelsea’s starting line-up.
