# Chelsea boosted by Pedro and David Luiz recoveries

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was handed a boost as both Pedro and David Luiz have not suffered long-term injuries and are available for selection after both players picked up knocks in the 0-0 draw with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge last weekend, according to a report by the [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-boosted-by-positive-injury-update-on-pedro-and-david-luiz-a3640011.html).

Pedro was forced off at half-time against the Gunners and Conte was fearing that the Spaniard would be ruled out for a few weeks but has revealed that the damage was not as serious as they thought, with the winger now being available for selection for the game against Stoke on Saturday. Conte said:

David Luiz suffered a fractured wrist before he was sent off against their North London opponents but is serving the first of his three-match ban against Stoke, but is available for the Blues’ UEFA Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid as his ban does not apply to European competitions.

Luiz hurt his wrist but wore a bandage and continued playing, before eventually being dismissed for a late challenge on Sead Kolasinac.

The Brazilian has now had a cast fitted onto his wrist and is available to Conte for selection after he serves his suspension.
