# Chelsea set to make Eden Hazard club’s highest paid player of all time

Chelsea are, according to a report from Matt Law of the [Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/09/26/chelsea-optimistic-eden-hazard-will-sign-new-300000-a-week-deal/), confident that Eden Hazard will put pen to paper on a new £300,000-a-week contract.

The Belgian has constantly been linked with moves to the likes of Real Madrid but Chelsea are hopeful that he will extend his deal at Stamford Bridge.

The 26-year-old wants to establish himself as one of the best players in the world on a consistent basis and finally make a big impact in the Champions League.

Despite his often-dazzling domestic form, Hazard has tended to struggle in Europe but as he’s now coming into his peak years, he’ll want to put that right at Chelsea are confident that he’ll do that in the famous blue shirt.

The Belgian, who will become the club’s highest paid player in history if he does sign the new contract, has been a bit part player this season as he continues to recover from an ankle injury but he should feature at some point in the game when Chelsea face Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.
