# Conte discusses situation surrounding Musonda

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that he has held talks with young winger Charly Musonda following his comments on social media in recent times.

As quoted by the [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/antonio-conte-confirms-charly-musonda-talk-after-chelsea-criticism-a3658226.html), the Blues boss discussed the enigmatic Belgian wide man’s situation at the club, and admitted that he demanded talks.

> I spoke with him and I think Charly understood his mistake. Honestly, he has to continue to work very hard to improve himself – the physical and tactical aspect but he is working very well.

> His mind must be focused on the pitch and not on social media. I told him this and my task to help him, always to find the right way not the wrong way.

Musonda’s post on Instagram [read](https://readchelsea.com/2017/10/10/charly-musonda-seemingly-hits-chelsea-instagram/) as follows:

> You sacrifice, you work hard, harder, you give more than what’s expected, and often more than you can, because you love what you do and clearly more than you should. And what do you get back? Literally nothing,… done. However, with this being said I will continue with same dedication and commitment to this great game.

It looks as though Musonda has grown impatient with the shortage of chances in the first-team at Stamford Bridge, with him having made just one appearance for the club in the Carabao Cup third round clash against Nottingham Forest.

> I am sure he understood and I don’t see a problem with him. I repeat he must continue to work in the way he is doing and be focused on the pitch not social media because that is not the most important thing for him.

> But for Charly, he could have a good opportunity this season to play also because we have three No.10s. We have Hazard, Willian and Pedro and usually two No.10s play and this season could be good to show he deserves to play.

Chelsea have a plethora of quality attacking options at their disposal, which has seen chances come at a premium for the former Real Betis loanee.

> I am sure about this because he is a talented player and I am sure about his career, if his attention is more on the pitch not on social media.

Conte is evidently a fan of Musonda and is aware of his abilities, and did admit that chances in the starting line-up could arise if he continues to work hard this season.
