# Alvaro Morata returns to full training

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has returned to full training, according to a report from the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4985530/Alvaro-Morata-fitness-boost-Chelsea-ahead-Roma.html).

The Spanish international has been out since the 1-0 home defeat to Manchester City. Morata was forced off inside the first-half with what was described as a second grade hamstring tear.

He was therefore absent from international duty with Spain, and missed Chelsea’s shock 2-1 defeat at the hands of rock-bottom Crystal Palace at the weekend.

However, the Blues have been boosted by Morata’s step up in recovery, with the summer signing returning to full training on Sunday.

Michy Batshuayi has been deputising in Morata’s absence but has failed to replicate the prolific performances that the Spaniard has been producing of late.

It looks as though Morata is facing a race against time if he is to be fit for Chelsea’s Champions League group stage clash against Roma on Wednesday, but there is a chance he could just be available for Antonio Conte.
