# Barcelona to rival Chelsea for Kalidou Koulibaly

Chelsea spent the best part of £60m in the summer to bring in two of Serie A’s finest defenders in Davide Zappacosta and Antonio Rudiger but Antonio Conte is still keen on adding to his ranks from his former stomping ground.

Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly is one of the most sought-after defenders in European football right now but the Serie A leaders have done a good job keeping him at the club in recent transfer windows.

It’s believed that the Blues hand long-standing interest in Koulinaly and could make a move for him in the near future but they’re set for some fresh competition for his signature as [Barcelona weigh up a move](https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/fc-barcelona-join-chelsea-in-race-to-sign-napoli-defender-koulib-53434) for the Senegal international.

Under contract until June 2021, £60m-rated Koulibaly has also been linked with a move to Juventus as a replacement for Leonardo Bonucci who completed a shock move to AC Milan in the summer amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester City to name just a few.
