# Chelsea to offer Cesc Fabregas new deal amid Man United interest

Chelsea are set to offer playmaker Cesc Fabregas a new deal, after Jose Mourinho renewed his interest in his former player, [the Times](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/sport/jose-mourinho-warned-off-cesc-fabregas-hbsxglctk) report.

The Spanish international still has 18 months left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, however, the Blues are set to offer the midfielder a new contract, which is expected to be a new one-year extension on top of his existing deal.

Chelsea’s normal policy is to only offer players who are 30 or older a one-year extension, so it looks likely that Fabregas will be offered the chance to remain at Stamford Bridge up until July 2020.

Antonio Conte has been impressed with Fabregas this season, and the Spaniard looks to have nailed down a place in the heart of the side’s midfield.

The 30-year-old has been involved in all bar one of Chelsea’s fixtures this campaign and is believed to be on Mourinho’s radar as he would like to to take the playmaker to Old Traffor, to play alongside another former Blue Nemanja Matic.
