Roma keeping tabs on Zappacosta ahead of possible January move
Despite only joining the club in the summer, Davide Zappacosta is already attracting interest from elsewhere.
Football-Italia reports that AS Roma are interested in the player ahead of a possible January move.
Roma are in the market for a full-back and have identified several targets ranging from Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian to Atletico Madrid’s Sime Vrsajlko.
Zappacosta has seen his game time limited since joining the club, but a recent injury to Victor Moses and allowed him a run in the side.
The Italian started and impressed against Manchester United, Chelsea’s last game prior to the international break.
With just nine appearances in all competitions this season, Zappacosta may have one eye on regular game time with the World Cup just around the corner, should Italy qualify.
While a move at this stage in his Chelsea career is unlikely, the Italian defender will be hoping for regular game time in the future.
