Paris Saint-Germain’s insistence that Neymar will not be sold to Real Madrid could spell bad news for Chelsea as the reigning European Champions look set to turn their focus to Eden Hazard.
After what has been a really disappointing season so far, Madrid are set to spend big in the summer so that they can once again mount a serious title challenge and with a deal for Neymar looking almost impossible, they could decide to make a move for Chelsea’s star man.
Hazard’s current contract expires in 2020 and Chelsea are working hard to tie him down to an extension. He’s already the ninth highest paid player in the Premier League and he’ll go higher on the list of the best paid players if he does put pen to paper.
However, if Madrid do come calling in the summer, he could decide not to extend his current deal, which would present Chelsea with a huge decision to make.
