Chelsea’s pursuit of Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has been well documented in recent times and it seems the Blues are edging ever closer to completing a deal for the Frenchman.
According to a report from reliable Italian news outlet Di Marzio, an agreement between Chelsea and Arsenal has been reached regarding the transfer of Giroud, with only two days of the transfer window remaining.
Chelsea have been keen to acquire a new striker throughout the course of the month and have identified several physical forwards as potential targets. However, it seems they have arrived at Giroud as their primary target and negotiations have seemingly progressed well.
Michy Batshuayi appears to be set for a loan move to Borussia Dortmund, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gears up for a £53.5m move to Arsenal in the coming days.
This means that Giroud is likely to become available in the final days of the transfer window and Chelsea have, as per Di Marzio, agreed a deal worth only £15 million, along with potential add-ons.
