# Mourinho full of praise for Willian as Chelsea lose at United

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho couldn’t hold back his praise for in-form Blues winger Willian, despite his Manchester United side taking all three points at Old Trafford.

As reported by [Football London](https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/fixtures-results/willian-mourinho-chelsea-manchester-united-14336503), Mourinho praised the Brazilian, who he is a known admirer of.

> Willian is an amazing player and he killed us with the goal. But we had more control of the game than them, without creating lots of chances.

Willian scored Chelsea’s only goal of the game in the first half to put them in front, but goals from Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard gave United a vital victory in the race for a top-four finish.

Eden Hazard picked out the winger with a brilliant defence-splitting pass before he rifled a powerful shot past David De Gea, but his effort was not enough for Antonio Conte’s side.

Willian, who has struggled for consistency this season, was a first-team regular during Mourinho’s time at Chelsea.

Admired for his work rate, the now Manchester United boss even tried to sign the player when he first moved to Old Trafford.
