# Dzeko happy to turn down Chelsea in January

Edin Dzeko is happy that he turned down a January move to Chelsea after Roma took their place in the Champions League Semi-Finals.

Dzeko put Roma on their way to a shocking victory over Barcelona, that saw Roma through to the final four in Europe.

Speaking to Mediaset, Dzeko talked about how he was glad he rejected a January move to Chelsea.

> Now I can play in the semifinal too, I’m not interested in money. It was not easy, but I stayed here for this kind of game. I’m happy and I think the club are too.

The former Manchester City striker was linked with a move, but would turn it down. Chelsea would sign Olivier Giroud instead, but the Frenchman has struggled since.

Dzeko could not hide his joy at leading Roma to the Semi-Finals of the Champions League.

Speaking to UEFA, Dzeko said:

> You cannot imagine, I mean it was incredible, crazy — I don’t know how to describe it,” he said. “At the end, we did it when definitely nobody believed in us. Obviously, we had to believe, even before the game.

> If we wanted to try something, we knew that we were playing against one of the biggest teams and obviously the first goal helped us a lot, pushed us forward even more with our great fans behind us. We did it all together.
