# Manchester United open to letting Anthony Martial join Chelsea

Manchester United winger Anthony Martial may only come to Stamford Bridge as part of a swap deal, according to the [Independent](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/manchester-united-transfer-news-anthony-martial-chelsea-willian-latest-bid-update-jose-mourinho-a8341301.html).

United boss Jose Mourinho would be happy for the Frenchman to leave for West London but he wants Brazilian winger Willian in return.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with a bid for the 22-year-old, who has found himself out of favour at Old Trafford under the Portuguese.

Mourinho and Martial have never been on the same page, however, the former Chelsea boss is a big admirer of Willian and has been ever since he signed the winger back in 2013.

The deal would not be a straight swap, however, with a seven-year age gap between the two players, Chelsea would have to offer a player plus cash deal.

With Blues owner Roman Abramovich looking to freshen up an ageing squad, this could be a deal that very much interests him.
