# Atletico Madrid join the race for Alvaro Morata

Atletico Madrid have reportedly joined the race to sign Alvaro Morata from Chelsea this summer.

The Spanish forward has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in the upcoming months and it seems a number of teams have expressed an interest.

According to claims from the Spanish media, as cited by [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/non-solo-la-juve-in-corsa-per-morata-c-e-l-atletico-madrid-97353), the latest side to have considered a move for Morata is Atletico, who are named to be on the lookout for replacements for Fernando Torres.

Morata is reported to be a top target for former club Juventus this summer but if these emerging claims are to be believed, they may face competition to land the forward.

Chelsea landed Morata for a sum in the region of £60 million from Real Madrid in the summer but he has failed to convince after a good start to life in English football.

Atletico will undoubtedly be keen to bolster their attacking reinforcements, with Torres leaving and Antoine Griezmann’s future at the club in doubt.
