# Juventus join Chelsea in hunt for Icardi

Juventus are interested in the prospect of signing Mauro Icardi from Inter this summer, but there is a catch.

[Goal](https://www.goal.com/it/notizie/calciomercato-juventus-clamoroso-il-sogno-e-icardi/1jind7bd0u87y1f21c7u3fxkr1) reports that the Old Lady will join Chelsea in the race to sign the player, but they may be forced into selling beforehand.

The report claims that someone like Gonzalo Higuain, who has also been linked with a summer switch to Stamford Bridge, could be moved on to pave the way for the Inter forward.

Both strikers have seen their names mentioned as possible transfer targets for Chelsea, with the Blues reportedly looking to replace Alvaro Morata this summer.

With Maurizio Sarri looking set to take over at the helm at Stamford Bridge, a host of Serie A stars have been discussed as possible transfer targets.

Given the rivalry between the two teams in Italy, a deal between both clubs is seen as highly unlikely.

Luciano Spalletti recently [confirmed](https://readchelsea.com/2018/05/27/spalletti-icardi-wants-to-stay-at-inter/) that the striker would like to remain at the San Siro this summer following Inter’s return to the Champions League
