# Spurs to rival Chelsea for Sarri if Pochettino leaves

Tottenham will rival Chelsea for Maurizio Sarri this summer if Mauricio Pochettino leaves the club.

[Football Italia](https://www.football-italia.net/122236/spurs-quiet-sarri-links) reports that Daniel Levy has refused to deny a possible move for Sarri, amid rumours that Pochettino could leave for Real Madrid.

Pochettino has been heavily linked with a move to Spain following Zinedine Zidane’s departure from the club.

Sarri has largely been considered as Chelsea’s first choice to replace Antonio Conte, with a deal appearing close.

However, reports that have emerged throughout the week highlighting Chelsea’s off-the-field issues have cast doubts over Sarri’s potential appointment.

Napoli remain keen to receive the full €8 million of Sarri’s release clause, despite already hiring Carlo Ancelotti as his successor.

Laurent Blanc and Luis Enrique have both been [named](https://readchelsea.com/2018/06/01/laurent-blanc-favourite-to-replace-antonio-conte/) as potential alternatives to Sarri, but missing out on the 58-year-old would come as a huge blow for the Blues are appearing to be so close to his secure his services.
