Roberto Martinez plays down Eden Hazard injury worries

When Eden Hazard limped out of Belgium’s World Cup warm up game against Costa Rica in the 70th minute, plenty of Belgian, and perhaps Chelsea, fans would have been fearing the worst.

The Chelsea star was replaced by Mousa Dembele and looked in some discomfort as he made his way off the pitch but manager Roberto Martinez has played down any worries, claiming that his star player just had a dead leg.

As reported by Kristof Terreur of HLN, Martinez said:

He had a little bit of a dead leg, a knock on his leg. Nothing to worry about.

Before he limped off, Hazard was playing superbly well and looked to be in great form ahead of the World Cup.

Belgium’s first game of the World Cup is against Panama a week today and Martinez seems confident that his star man will be fit and firing.

Chelsea fans know all too well what it’s like to lose Hazard to an injury picked up whilst playing for Belgium, so they’ll be glad to see that his latest problem isn’t a serious one.
