# Chelsea and Arsenal linked with James Rodriguez – who rejects Bayern move

Chelsea have been named as potential suitors to land James Rodriguez this summer after the player reportedly turned down a permanent move to Bayern Munich.

[Sky Sports in Germany](https://sport.sky.de/transfers) cite reports from Diario Gol that claim the player does not want to play under new manager Niko Kovac.

Bayern had been hoping to land the player on a permanent basis this summer and had a €55 million deal arranged after the Colombian enjoyed a productive season on loan from Real Madrid.

However, Rodriguez now looks set for another move, with the Premier League looking a likely destination.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move, but with neither club able to offer the player Champions League football it is yet to be seen if he would be interested in a move to London.

Chelsea are also [closing in](https://readchelsea.com/2018/06/28/chelsea-lead-arsenal-and-juventus-in-chase-for-golovin/) on a deal to sign Russian star Aleksandr Golovin, which may cast further doubts over a move for Rodriguez.
