# Conte sacked for communication problems and strained relationships

Chelsea were forced to sack Antonio Conte because of a breakdown in communication, according to reports.

[Sky Sports News](https://twitter.com/SkySportsNews/status/1017735119182925824) claim that Conte was relieved of his duties because of  ‘complete breakdown in communication with club’s board’.

They also suggest that his relationship with senior players became untenable, with many hinting that they would leave the club if the Italian remained in charge.

Both Willian and Eden Hazard have hinted that they could be forced into a move elsewhere if Conte did not leave the club this summer.

Willian is being [linked](https://readchelsea.com/2018/07/12/barcelona-lodge-second-bid-for-willian/) with a move away from Chelsea but it is yet to be seen whether or not the Italian’s departure changes the Brazilian’s stance on his future.

Despite it being widely reported yesterday, Chelsea [officially confirmed](https://readchelsea.com/2018/07/13/chelsea-sack-antonio-conte/) the news this morning, ending months of speculation.

Maurizio Sarri looks set to be appointed imminently, according to widespread reports as Chelsea close in on the former Napoli boss.
