# Atletico Madrid eye Giroud loan deal

Atlético Madrid are interested in signing Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud on a season-long loan, with the option to buy, according to reports.

The World Cup winning forward only joined the Blues in January, but is apparently wanted by the Spanish side.

That is according to [GFFN](https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2018/atletico-madrid-approach-chelsea-for-olivier-giroud/), who cite Gianluca di Marzio, who claims that Chelsea would consider doing a deal if the loan move came with an obligation to buy, rather than an option.
