# Reina plays down Chelsea links

AC Milan goalkeeper Pepe Reina has played down suggestions that he could be on his way to Chelsea this summer.

The Spaniard drew surprise [links](https://readchelsea.com/2018/07/19/chelsea-linked-with-a-move-for-pepe-reina/) to Stamford Bridge as a possible replacement for Thibaut Courtois, despite only recently joining Milan.

Speaking to [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/milan-reina-mi-sento-un-numero-1-come-i-donnarumma-chelsea-ipote-94193), Reina was quizzed about Chelsea and he explained that he is looking forward to his move to Milan and playing at the San Siro next season.

> They are hypotheses, I just arrived, I want to enjoy these days with the boys, insert myself as soon as possible, give my best, my contribution and continue to grow.

Reina impressed at Napoli under Sarri and there had been some suggestions that he would look to bring him to London with him.

Despite recently putting pen to paper on a deal in Milan, it had been claimed he could be moved on for a quick profit, with the Italian side looking to sell this summer.

Milan themselves are also being linked with Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, while both the Blues and the Rossoneri are eyeing a move for Juventus’ Gonzalo Higuain.
