Green is without a club after he was released by Huddersfield at the end of last season, following a year at the club.

He was previously at Leeds, where he impressed in the Championship, earning himself a move to the Premier League with Huddersfield.

The 38-year-old is set to come in as Chelsea’s 3rd choice and could be a good role model for the younger goalkeepers at the club.

Green is a former England international, having been capped 12 times by his country, and has made over 300 Premier League appearances – for Norwich, West Ham and QPR.

He started his career at Norwich, making 241 appearances for the club, before moving to West Ham and also making 241 appearances for The Hammers. He then had spells at QPR, Leeds and Huddersfield, before his expected move to Chelsea.
