# Pickford Chelsea’s first choice to replace Courtois

Chelsea want to sign Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as Thibaut Courtois’ replacement if he leaves the club this summer.

[Tom White of Sky Sports News reports](https://twitter.com/tomwhitemedia/status/1022814106250870785) that the England international is Chelsea’s first-choice to replace the Belgian.

Courtois is being heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid and is expected to make a move back to Spain this summer.

The Belgian is out of contract at the end of next season and could potentially leave for nothing next summer.

The Everton shot-stopper would not come cheaply should Chelsea pursue a deal, having only made the move to Goodison Park last summer for a reported £30 million.

The Toffees will be desperate to keep hold of the player and are expected to reject any approaches for the former Sunderland man.

Pickford has enjoyed a successful summer, playing a key role in England’s third-place finish at the World Cup in Russia.
