# “I am sure Hazard will be with us this season” – Sarri

Maurizio Sarri is ‘sure’ that Eden Hazard will remain at Chelsea for the immediate future.

The Belgian had suggested that he may seek a transfer after the World Cup, and reported interest from Real Madrid has further stoked rumours Hazard was angling for a Stamford Bridge exit.

With the Spanish transfer window not closing until August 31, the Blues are not out of the woods yet in the Hazard saga. However, Sarri believes he’s talked the 27-year-old round.

[Sky Sports report](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/11474837/maurizio-sarri-sure-eden-hazard-will-stay-at-chelsea) Sarri as saying:

> I have spoken to him often in 10 days, but he has never said anything about \[leaving\]. I am sure Eden will be with us this season.

This will come as welcome news to Chelsea supporters, who had already seen one of their Belgian superstars head to Los Blancos earlier this summer in Thibaut Courtois.

Hazard played in Chelsea’s first game of the season away to Huddersfield, where the Londoners recorded a 3-0 victory.
