# Relief as Musonda’s injury not as serious as first anticipated

Vitesse will be grateful for the news that Charly Musonda’s injury is not as bad as first anticipated.

There were [concerns this morning](https://readchelsea.com/2018/09/13/charly-musonda-suffers-major-injury-whilst-out-on-loan-at-vitesse/) that the player has sustained a long-term injury and could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

However, [Goal now reports](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/musonda-shin-injury-not-as-bad-as-first-feared/71dfm3jfco1p1ott6c6hqbbhp) that the player is expected to miss around a month of football following a shin injury.

The injury occurred a friendly for Vitesse against Royal Antwerp and the player returned to Chelsea to discover the severity.

The news will come as a delight for Musonda, who will be hoping to make an impact at Vitesse as he prepares to get his career back on track.

With his long-term future at Chelsea very much in doubt, he knows he has to go go to Vitesse and deliver after a poor spell at Celtic.

Musonda was heavily linked with a permanent move away from the club this summer but has instead left on loan.
