# France players tried to convince Kante to join PSG

Members of the French World Cup squad were reportedly trying to convince Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante into joining Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

[According to reports emerging out of France](https://le10sport.com/football/mercato/mercato-psg-mbappe-kimpembe-et-areola-au-coeur-du-dossier-ngolo-kante-cet-ete-403775), the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Presnel Kimpembe and Alphonse Areola all did their best to try and turn the player’s head.

The Ligue 1 champions were heavily linked with a move to sign the midfielder this summer and preliminary talks were believed to have taken place.

Chelsea are desperate to keep hold of the former Leicester City man and are now preparing a big-money contract offer in order to keep him at Stamford Bridge for the long term.

Kante played a key role in helping France win the World Cup in Russia and is an equally popular figure within the squad, as displayed in the post-tournament celebrations.

The midfielder has been impressive under Maurizio Sarri so far this season, playing in a far more advanced role under the Italian.
