# Luiz backs Morata to find scoring boots in Europa League

David Luiz is backing out-of-form striker Alvaro Morata to rediscover his best form in the Europa League this season.

[Speaking to the London Evening Standard,](https://metro.co.uk/2018/09/20/david-luiz-gives-advice-to-struggling-chelsea-star-alvaro-morata-7963328/) as cited on the Metro, Luiz believes that the Spaniard can take advantage of the competition and get back to scoring ways.

Morata has drawn comparisons to Fernando Torres, who also struggled at Chelsea before finding the back of the net during their Europa League campaign under Rafa Benitez.

> Playing in the Europa League obviously means more games for us and, therefore, more opportunities for him \[Morata\] and Giroud to score.
>
> I’m going to be happy for both Alvaro and Olivier if they find the back of the net. Sometimes they are frustrated if they don’t score, but I tell them, ‘Keep calm, you played a great game’. But it’s good for a striker to have this feeling when they’re not scoring. They have to think this way.

Morata has fallen behind Olivier Giroud in the pecking order under Maurizio Sarri just five games into the new season.

The French striker started ahead of the former Real Madrid during Chelsea’s emphatic 4-1 win over Cardiff in the Premier League, meaning Morata is going to have to settle for Europa League football for the time being.

He has been unable to shake off the shackles of last season under Sarri, despite scoring against Arsenal earlier this season.
