# Fiorentina determined to tie Chelsea target Chiesa down to new deal

Fiorentina want to tie Chelsea target Federico Chiesa down to a new contract at the club, according to a report from La Nazione, as cited by [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/fiorentina-via-ai-rinnovi-eccellenti-di-simeone-e-chiesa-29268).

Italian international Chiesa has established himself as a pivotal member of Fiorentina’s starting line-up and the club are believed to be keen on reflecting his importance with a lucrative new deal.

Chelsea have been heavily [linked](https://readchelsea.com/2018/09/17/chelsea-in-pole-position-to-land-chiesa-in-january-window/) with a swoop for the winger, with boss Maurizio Sarri believed to be an admirer of the player’s talents.

However, it seems Fiorentina are making significant efforts now to rebuff interest from potential suitors as they bid to retain the services of their prized asset.

Serie A giants Napoli have also been touted as a potential destination for Chiesa, whose form in Serie A in the last 18 months has earned him plenty of plaudits.

The 20-year-old, who can play on either wing, has scored two goals from six Serie A appearances this season.
