# Premier League rivals scout Chelsea target Milinkovic-Savic

Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham were all believed to have scouts watching Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic during Lazio’s win over Genoa.

According to [the Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/sergej-milinkovic-savic-watched-three-13332303), the Premier League trio were all keeping a watchful eye on the Serbian midfielder, who was heavily linked with the player throughout the summer transfer window.

Chelsea had previously [been named among the favourites](https://readchelsea.com/2018/07/25/chelsea-favourites-to-sign-milinkovic-savic-as-he-favours-blues-move/) to sign the player when it looked like he could move on this summer.

The 23-year-old has been regarded as one of Europe’s hottest prospects over recent campaigns, with the Serbian becoming a regular in Lazio’s midfield since 2015.

However, the Italian giants are confident they can keep hold of their star player, who is currently contracted to Lazio up until 2022.

Milinkovic-Savic was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United and Juventus throughout the summer, but no deal ever materialised and he remained a Lazio player.
