# Jordi Alba welcomes prospect of Barcelona signing Morata

Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba has hinted that Alvaro Morata would fit in well at the club, amid speculation that he could move to Spain.

Chelsea are reportedly looking to sell Morata next summer and Barcelona are said to be keen.

The Spanish forward has scored seven goals this season, but has fallen behind Olivier Giroud in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

[Speaking to Mundo Deportivo,](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20181213/453534037028/alba-el-levante-sera-una-eliminatoria-abierta.html) Alba said this about his Spain teammate joining Barcelona:

> Good players and good people always fit in the club. I have a huge appreciation.

It would be a potentially controversial move for Morata, who started his career with Real Madrid.

Morata scored 25 goals in 63 La Liga appearances for Madrid across two spells with the club earlier in his career.

The forward has also scored 13 goals in 27 caps for Spain at senior level, although he was left out of their squad for the World Cup in Russia.
