# Rudiger not interested in new Chelsea deal just yet

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has revealed that he is in no rush to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

[The London Evening Standard reports](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea/antonio-ruidger-in-no-rush-over-new-chelsea-contract-it-is-not-necessary-a4019266.html) that Rudiger is one of the many players that Chelsea are looking to tie down to a long-term deal.

The German has impressed at the heart of Chelsea’s defence since joining from AS Roma and the Blues are keen to secure the futures of their key players.

With the potential of a transfer ban looming, Chelsea are looking to prepare themselves for the worst possible scenario.

The club are hoping to convince both Eden Hazard and Callum Hudson-Odoi into signing new deals, however, there are concerns that both could leave the club in the near future.

Rudiger brushed away any talk that a new deal is imminent, with the German defender staying relaxed about his future.

> That’s not the case. I think there is also no need. I still have three-and-a-half years (on my current contract) to go. I like it here, but there is no speaking between me and the club. It is not necessary at the moment.
