# Leicester star Ndidi a doubt for Chelsea match

Leicester City could be without star midfielder Wilfred Ndidi for their clash against Chelsea this weekend.

It is reported by [Goal](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/leicester-city-midfielder-wilfred-ndidi-doubtful-for-chelsea/npvp8qsai39p1gfpbjqyjeukj) that the Foxes are sweating over the condition of the Nigeria international, who has established himself as a key first-team player for the club in recent seasons.

Ndidi has been in impressive form under Claude Puel this term and is a mainstay in the Frenchman’s starting line-up.

However, Leicester could face Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea side with the midfielder unavailable as he continues to work his way back from a minor knock to his knee.

The 22-year-old sustained the injury during the Foxes’ midweek Carabao Cup encounter with Manchester City. Following the match, manager Puel discussed his condition and said:

> It’s about his knee, he received a fall against him. He finished the game, but with pain, so we’ll see if he can participate.

Chelsea will be desperate to continue in their winning ways after defeating Brighton 2-1 in the Premier League last weekend and Bournemouth 1-0 on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.
