# Hazard asking Kovacic questions about life at Real Madrid

Mateo Kovacic has confirmed that Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard has been asking him questions about life at Real Madrid, the [Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1063754/Chelsea-transfer-news-Eden-Hazard-Mateo-Kovacic-Real-Madrid) reports.

Kovacic is on a season-long loan at the Blues from Real.

Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to the La Liga giants in recent weeks, with Kovacic now confirming that the Belgian had been asking him about life with the Spanish club.

> For me, he is an incredible player.

> I did not know he was that good and he can easily be one of the two or three best players in the world.

> He asked me how it was there (at Real) but we are looking forward to having a great season together, to be fully concentrated on Chelsea.

> He is focused a lot on doing great things with Chelsea.

Real have been monitoring the forward’s situation for several seasons now and it appears that a deal to take the Belgian to Spain could now be closer than ever before.

Hazard has been a standout player for Maurizio Sarri’s side this season, with the Blues valuing Hazard at £150m.

Former Chelsea star Michael Essien told Express Sport of his opinion on Hazard’s current situation:

> Hazard is one of the best players in the world.

> He’s been playing in the Premier League very well and looks fantastic at the moment.

> The interest of Real Madrid, I only hear from people in the media.

> But I mean when Real Madrid come calling… every player would love to play for them.

> He’s happy at Chelsea though and hopefully we can keep him.
