# Liverpool to rival Chelsea for Porto defender Eder Militao

Chelsea will face competition from Liverpool in their bid to sign Brazilian defender Eder Militao from Porto.

[According to reports in Italy](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/porto-due-club-inglesi-su-eder-militao-ecco-quanto-costa-77365), both United and Liverpool are keen to sign the €50m-rated defender.

Chelsea have also been [admirers for some time](https://readchelsea.com/2018/12/06/militaos-agent-discusses-his-future-at-porto-amid-chelsea-links/) as he continues to impress in Portugal.

Manchester United have been watching the player for some time, with the club beginning to plan for life after Antonio Valencia.

Porto already want to give Brazilian international new deal to remove the relatively low buy-out clause and to increase his salary so he is not tempted to move on after just a few months.

With Militao’s performances for Porto catching the eye of many, it seems that a big European move is looming for the young defender.

Any club looking to buy Militao may also be forced to spend big if Porto can reach an agreement over a new contract.
