# Chelsea told to pay €100m to sign Bruno Fernandes

Chelsea have been told to stump up a whopping €100 million if they want to sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting.

According to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha, [as cited on Sport Witness,](https://sportwitness.co.uk/e100m-no-less-chelsea-given-clear-message-much-transfer-will-cost/) potential suitors have been told that the player will not be leaving the club on the cheap.

Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have both been [linked](https://readchelsea.com/2019/02/12/chelsea-keeping-tabs-on-sportings-bruno-fernandes/) with moves to sign the player recently.

Each side have had officials watching the player this season, with Chelsea likely to be in the market for a midfielder during the summer transfer window.

Fernandes has a huge release clause in his current deal with the Portuguese side and the report describes it as ‘non-negotiable’.

After scoring 20 goals this season, Fernandes has once again sparked talk of a move away, having previously been linked with an exit from the club.

Chelsea’s interest in Fernandes dates back [some time](https://readchelsea.com/2018/05/02/chelsea-hold-talks-with-bruno-fernandes/)to when it looked like he could be on his way out of Sporting during the previous summer window.
