# Chelsea refuse to lower Bakayoko asking price

Chelsea are not prepared to lower their asking price for midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

[According to Sport Media Set](https://www.sportmediaset.mediaset.it/mercato/milan/milan-bakayoko-il-chelsea-non-fa-sconti-per-il-riscatto-serve-la-champions_1266625-201902a.shtml), Milan have been trying to negotiate his price down as they look to stay within FFP restrictions.

Bakayoko is currently on a season-long loan to Milan and there is an option in the contract to make it permanent for a fee in the region of €35m.

The report claims that Chelsea are not prepared to drop the valuation and would still be interested in keeping him – due to their current transfer ban.

Bakayoko has been in impressive form for Milan in the Serie A this season and recently scored his first goal for the club against Inter in the derby.

Sport Media Set claim that the only way Milan will be able to secure a permanent deal for Bakayoko is if they earn a Champions League spot – by finishing in the top four.

Milan are currently fourth in the league, four points ahead of Roma with ten games left to play.
