# Aubameyang hoping to avoid Chelsea in Europa League final

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed he would “prefer” to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final rather than an all Premier League tie against rivals Chelsea.

Aubameyang helped Arsenal to a 3-1 victory over Valencia in the first leg of their Europa League semi final on Thursday, to put Unai Emery’s side firmly in control heading into the second leg.

[And according to the Metro](https://metro.co.uk/2019/05/04/pierre-emerick-aubameyang-admits-rather-face-frankfurt-europa-league-final-chelsea-arsenal-9411330/), the striker revealed he would like to play Frankfurt in the final, should the Gunners progress, when asked about the potential of facing Chelsea.

> No, I don’t want them \[Chelsea\]. We know they are a great team but hopefully first we will go to the final and then I prefer to play Frankfurt, because we have already played against Chelsea.

> I know Frankfurt are really good and if we both go through to the final it will be a hard one.

Pedro scored a crucial away goal for the Blues in the first leg of their Europa League semi final against Frankfurt, cancelling out Luka Jovic’s fine header in Thursday’s 1-1 draw.
