# Bayern Munich drop out of the race to sign Nicolas Pepe

Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been handed a major transfer boost with the news that Bayern Munich have dropped out of the race to sign Nicolas Pepe.

[According to Sport Bild, as cited by Get German Football News](https://twitter.com/GGFN_/status/1126047075580489728), the Bundesliga champions will not pursue the Ligue 1 star this summer.

Bayern had been one of the front runners to sign the player this summer off the back of a fantastic season with Lille.

Needing to strengthen out wide, Bayern were reportedly keen to snap up the Ivorian, but they faced a wealth of competition from the Premier League.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been linked, with the Blues earmarking Pepe as a potential target that could replace Eden Hazard in the summer.

Pepe has scored 20 league goals this season and also registered 11 assists, making him one of the most in-demand players around Europe ahead of the transfer window.
