The Dutchman is out of contract at the end of next month and has clearly decided not to pen a new deal with Chelsea and, instead, seek a new club for next season.

He made 21 appearances for Chelsea’s under-23’s in the league last season, playing at left-back and left-midfield and also played four times in the EFL Trophy for the club.

Castillo joined Chelsea from the famed Ajax academy in 2016, signing a three-year deal at the time, and will now move on to the next chapter in his career.

He has already been capped seven times by Holland at under-19 level and is highly regarded, which means it will come as a blow for Chelsea to lose him at this point in his career.
