# Tottenham leading Chelsea in race for Zagreb star Dani Olmo

Tottenham are reportedly leading the race for Dinamo Zagreb star Dani Olmo.

According to [Spanish newspaper AS, cited by the Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/791068/Tottenham-Dani-Olmo-transfer-latest-update-news), Spurs are in pole position to land the midfielder in a deal potentially worth £27 million.

Cheslea, along with Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United, have been [named as potential suitors](https://readchelsea.com/2019/07/02/chelsea-named-as-suitors-for-dani-olmo/) for the Spaniard in recent weeks, however, a move to link up with Mauricio Pochettino now looks the most likely.

The Blues are currently serving a two-window transfer ban, however, this has not prevented them from being involved in speculation surrounding a possible deal for the midfielder.

Olmo recently played a key role in Spain’s Under 21 European Championship win, with the 21-year-old getting on the scoresheet against Germany in the final.

A host of European outfits, including Atletico Madrid, have also been tracking the player, but it appears as if a move to Tottenham could well go through ahead of the new season.
