# Southampton and Norwich eyeing up Guehi

Southampton and Norwich are both eyeing up a potential swoop for Chelsea centre-back Marc Guehi next month.

[As reported by The Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7818879/Norwich-Southampton-enter-FIVE-CLUB-race-Chelsea-starlet-Marc-Guehi.html), Guehi could leave Chelsea on loan in January, with Southampton and Norwich both having made contact with the club over a deal.

The report claims that several Championship clubs are also keen, with Nottingham Forest, Bristol City and Swansea showing an interest in the England under-21 international.

Guehi has yet to experience senior football on a regular basis, with two first-team appearances for Chelsea in his career, so a loan move could do him the world of good. He needs to get some experience under his belt and a Championship loan would be ideal for him. Southampton and Norwich are in a dogfight at the bottom of the Premier League, which is not the best place for a 19-year-old to go in and try to learn his trade.

You do not want his first taste of senior football to be losing every week followed by a potential relegation. Instead, you can send him to a top Championship side and get him in the flow of winning matches and playing against physical teams each game.
